"It's through our differences that we find humor," says Carl, who as a humorist has spent a lifetime observing and listening to people. "Uncle Arlo and Aunt Mavis are so different that the only thing they have in common is they got married on the same day."
As Carl sees it, humor draws us together and helps us understand and celebrate our differences. "Being the same doesn't necessarily make us stronger as a people, but accepting our differences does.
"So let's gather together and share what we have in common -- even though in some ways we're as different as 'Cornbread and Caviar.'
